Who We're Looking ForIsett is seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to serve as an Operations Manager for our Southeast Region. This leadership role requires strong technical proficiency, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to develop and maintain client relationships while helping expand our presence in the region.
The ideal candidate will bring both field and office expertise, strategic thinking, and a client-focused mindset, with the capability to oversee staff, manage projects, and represent Isett in professional and municipal settings.
ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Manager will support the success of our Surveying Department through responsibilities that include:
- Preparing proposals and communicating directly with clients
- Developing and maintaining client relationships; leveraging existing contacts to grow business in the region
- Conducting project research and reviewing survey data, notes, and sketches for accuracy
- Supervising survey field and office staff, ensuring high-quality work and operational efficiency
- Performing computations for boundary, topographic, as-built, and construction surveys
- Ensuring all work complies with applicable regulations and industry standards
- Monitoring project budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Participating in client meetings and attending municipal meetings as needed
- Working closely with the Department Head to achieve operational goals
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Pennsylvania
- MD and/or NJ licensure is a plus
- We will consider a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) able to obtain PLS within 6 months
- Minimum 10 years of surveying experience
, including 5+ years supervising field and office staff - Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills
- Prior project and client management experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
- Bentley Micro Station experience is a plus
- Broad familiarity with surveying concepts, practices, procedures, and boundary law
- Ability to perform a mix of office and field work, including walking long distances, climbing, and working in varied weather and construction environments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites and meetings
- Ability to attend evening meetings when required
- Ability to obtain clearances (PA Act 34, 114, 151) for school-site work
