Job Summary

• Responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
• Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient.
• Perform observations of patients and report changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
• Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
• Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene, changing, light housekeeping, and patient vitals.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Prior direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.

• BLS Certification.

2 South – Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit, located on the second floor of the South Tower building. This 30-bed unit has capabilities for telemetry cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses for the medical patients are cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, and infectious processes. Surgical patients include a variety of specialties such as general surgery, GYN, ENT, and urology surgeries. Cardiovascular intervention/procedural patients (post‑cardiac catheterization, stent, and cardiac device placement) are often placed on this unit.
