An Emergency Management Officer I will serve as a primary technical expert in WIPT and Firewatch CAD systems, overseeing mobile radio programming and facilitating seamless movement of ground and air resources during active incidents. The position's strategic responsibilities include developing Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP), managing GIS boundary data, and conducting property audits for federal and state assets. With a focus on operational readiness, this position will maintain Incident Management Team (IMT) mobile command centers, monitor critical weather intelligence, and perform rigorous quality assurance on permitting data to ensure mission success and community safety.

This job will require occasional overnight travel. The reporting location is 3139 Highway 468, Pearl, MS.

What you'll need to be successful:
The applicant will need the willingness to learn wildland fire detection, suppression, preparedness, and prevention. The applicant will need to become proficient in mobilizing air and ground resources statewide. Computer knowledge and file management skills will be essential for day-to-day duties. Given the ever-changing nature of wildland fire, expect other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or high school graduation or equivalent, and 0-2 years of experience.
