Job Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Assistand Project Leader .

Reporting to the Manager, Projects , this position is responsible to support the successful delivery of assigned projects within multidisciplinary portfolios by assisting with project organization, coordination, execution, and documentation. Working under the direction of the Supervisor or delegate, you will provide technical support to matrix project teams while helping ensure Project Management and Contract Management governance requirements are followed.

Key Accountabilities
Support the coordination and control of assigned projects or project packages through defined stages of project management, in alignment with established Project Management governance.

Assist with the implementation of approved project management processes, including phase-gating, integration, scope, schedule, cost, change control, estimating, communications, reporting, and risk management.

Support the planning and delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction activities to help ensure project objectives are achieved within safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.

Assist in preparing business case submissions, project approval materials, funding requests, planning inputs, and related documentation for senior management, the Executive Office, and the Board of Directors.

Monitor and report on project or work package performance, including cost, schedule, variances, risks, issues, changes, corrective actions, and progress against project commitments.

Maintain effective communication and coordination with internal teams, field construction forces, operations, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, agencies, and other stakeholders to support project objectives.

Support project meetings, documentation, turnover activities, and deficiency tracking to ensure project information is complete, accurate, and aligned with process requirements.

Visit project sites, manufacturers, and suppliers as required, while maintaining awareness of applicable procedures, project management practices, construction methods, and industry advancements to support effective project execution.

Qualifications
Completion of a four-year university degree, preferably in Engineering, finance, business or economics

Minimum of two years of related experience supporting project management, project controls, or project delivery activities.

Strong understanding of project controls principles, including scheduling, cost management, risk management, resource planning, and performance tracking.

Experience reviewing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates, supporting request for proposal processes, participating in contract bidding and award activities, and contributing to projects through execution and close-out.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power BI, including experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing dashboards and project performance reports.

Ability to analyze project data, identify trends, assess performance against key metrics, and communicate insights to support decision-making.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
