Territory Manager, Pickering to Napanee area – Full-Time

The Territory Manager will be responsible for account management and business development within the Pickering to Napanee geographic territory area. This will include generating new business as well as growing existing accounts. The position covers a wide range of products sold through multiple sales channels and utilizes diverse sales techniques and tools to drive revenue.
Critical Business Objectives Account Management- Service accounts on a set schedule ranging from weekly to quarterly.
- Increase sales volumes through increased product distribution, merchandising gains, proper inventory levels and executing promotional programs.
- Schedule and conduct regular educational samplings with retail and licensee staff.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain daily activity log of sales and client visits and submit weekly reporting.
- Receive and process orders from accounts.
- Collect invoices/payment.
- Generate new business acquiring additional customers through cold calling and effective sales presentations.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets on new business accounts.
- Promote Magnotta brands by networking, cold calling and social media.
- Prepare quarterly business plan in relation to your territory developing sales leads to increase sales and revenue.
- Develop and implement licensee promotions on a regular basis to increase sales and promote products.
- Participate in selected approved trade shows (consumer and trade) within budget and guidelines in conjunction with the Events Department.
- Be creative in seeking new opportunities for promoting our brand.
- Evaluate return on investment from each event for feedback to the management team.
- Recommend and evaluate future ROI on events.
- Monitor customer inventory levels across all channels. Solicit orders and recommend order quantities to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at all times.
- Communicate temporary price reductions, promotions, marketing etc. that will impact sales levels and require additional inventory.
- Manage samples to maximize sales and decrease costs.
- Provide accurate and timely sample inventory report on a monthly basis to Director, Sales.
- Manage your daily expenses within approved budget and guidelines.
- Submit company credit card receipts monthly as requested. Submit any personal expenses on the proper form within a month of the expense.
- Maintain travel mileage records.
- Adhere to all health and safety work practices, procedures and policies.
- Report incidents immediately to your supervisor.
- Always ensure personal protective equipment is used according to the work practice performed.
- Work, drive safely and diligently.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Management, or 5+ years of related industry experience.
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience preferably in liquor/hospitality sector.
- Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition.
- 1-3 years of proven success meeting and exceeding sales targets in consumer goods environment.
- Experience and success cold-calling and developing new business.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and listening.
- Sound knowledge of the sales and marketing of wine, beer and spirits.
- Work with other team members and/or management to promote sales volume.
- Provides product and brand marketing knowledge through sales aides and training seminars.
- Effectively plan on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, with quota and distribution objectives.
- Manage assigned budget as required.
- Effectively prioritizes work and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Good interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Demonstrates sound judgement.
- A winning positive attitude and team player.
- Intermediate knowledge of full MS Office Suite and proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Developing presentations and communicating to all client levels.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Carrying and lifting 45-65 pounds.
- Immediate reaching to perform various duties.
- Overhead reaching to perform various duties.
- Standing and walking for periods to perform various duties.
- Squatting or bending to perform various duties as assigned.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop, laptop and peripherals.
- May be sitting for long periods of time while driving in a car.
