Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, control panels, automation equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Make a wide range of repairs to the facility/building, both mechanically and electrically.
  • Work on special projects involving production equipment, including machinery modifications, electrical system enhancements, and facility updates, ensuring all work meets safety and industry standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and applicable electrical and mechanical codes.
  • Operate machining and welding equipment and be familiar with vacuum technology.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and testing equipment.
  • Read and follow schematics and equipment drawings.
  • Perform material handling tasks, including lifting 50 lbs.
Qualifications
  • Successfully obtained provincial trade papers or equivalent related to the maintenance field with an approved apprenticeship program (i.e., Industrial Electrician license).
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (AC/DC), PLC basics, motors, drives, sensors, and mechanical components.
  • Demonstrate problem‑solving skills in troubleshooting machinery.
  • Converse and write fluently in English to interpret verbal instructions and to obtain information from others regarding machinery issues.
  • Ability to read and complete written documentation related to the position and the workplace (e.g., service manuals, work order sheets).
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities.
  • Must be safety and quality conscious as well as a team player.

Rate of pay: $43.26 an hour.
