Respiratory Therapist

This position administers diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to facilitate the patient's breathing. Responsible for evaluating respiratory care for appropriateness and effectiveness and communicates findings/results to other health care professionals. This position may perform role of charge therapist in absence of manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities and duties include maintaining records and communicating information, administering various treatments, preparing for patient treatment, maintaining the patient airway, performing invasive procedures, responding to stat calls, codes, emergency response calls, and participating in trauma and resuscitation procedures.

Minimum qualifications include an associate's degree, driver's license if in a home care department, NBRC-RRT registry, Ohio license, and CPR certification. Additional requirements for the home care department include a valid state driver's license, minimum age of eighteen, acceptable motor vehicle report, proof of insurance if applicable.

Work shift is variable and scheduled weekly hours are not specified. Department is pulmonary services.
