Job Details
Location:
Pickerington, OH (also surrounding areas including Canal Winchester, OH).
Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year.
Hours:
Monday – Friday, standard business hours.
Work setting:
On the road for patient visits and training at the local office or remotely.
- Evaluate patient’s functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self‑care ability, work capacity, etc.
- Evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living and identify equipment needs.
- Participate in the development of the total plan of care.
- For patients planning to return to work, perform work capacity evaluation and refer to specialized vocational training per organizational policy.
- Develop treatment programs and establish goals for improved function.
- Communicate the plan of care to referring physicians and other organization professionals.
- Teach new skills or retrain patients in familiar daily activities lost due to illness or injury per organizational policy.
- Fabricate splints and instruct patients in use of adaptive equipment to improve function.
- Train patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Maintain and submit appropriate clinical records, notes, and reports to physicians about changes in patient condition.
- Maintain contact and communication with other personnel involved in patient care to promote coordinated, efficient care.
- Attend and contribute to in‑services, case conferences, and other meetings required by company policy to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care plans.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and refer as appropriate.
- Instruct patient’s family/caregiver and other organization health‑care personnel in patient’s treatment regime when indicated and appropriate.
- Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants according to organizational policy and state regulations.
- When therapy is the only skilled service, instruct, supervise, and evaluate home‑health aide care every two weeks.
- Participate in discharge planning for patients.
- Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Licensed driver with a vehicle in good working order and compliant insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
- Recent TB test, required.
- Two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
