Job Description Summary
Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
According to department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care services to patients. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients.
- Assessment/Diagnosis (30%) – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual and stabilizes patient condition.
- Outcomes Identification/Planning (30%) – Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
- Implementation/Evaluation (20%) – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revises plan of care as needed.
- Leadership (10%) – Actively participates in rounding and process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Mentorship/Feedback (10%) – Provides feedback, mentorship, and education to clinical teams.
- Review of Deterioration Index (DI)
- Sepsis evaluations
- Response to codes and inpatient stroke alerts throughout the hospital
- Rounding on nursing units
Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.). Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care. Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only. Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Promptly reports information security incidents to the Ohio Health Information Security Officer.

- 5+ years of experience in critical care or emergency medicine
- ABG interpretation and interventions
- Cardiac rhythm recognition and interventions
- Shock states and interventions
- Neuro device basic setup and operation
- MTP operation with TEG interpretation
- Stroke alert protocol
- Basic diagnostic/lab interpretations and interventions
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interventions

- Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- BLS – Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
- RN – Registered Nurse – Ohio Board of Nursing
