Overview
As an Assistant Manager at Subway, you play a critical role in supporting the Store Manager and driving the daily success of the store. You are responsible for executing operational standards, developing team members, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role serves as a key leadership position, bridging frontline execution with management strategy to help achieve store performance goals including sales growth, productivity (SPLH), food cost, REV scores, and overall operational excellence.
NewStore Opening – Hiring & Training Plan
We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager for an upcoming Subway location at:
1142 Hill Rd
Pickerington, OH
This location is actively undergoing renovation and is expected to open in the coming months (timeline TBD).
The selected candidate will be hired immediately and begin onboarding and training at one of our nearby locations:
- 9313 Columbia Rd, Pataskala, OH (Etna)
- 35 W Broad St, Pataskala, OH
During this time, you will work alongside experienced leadership teams to develop your skills in daily operations, team supervision, inventory management, and performance execution.
Upon opening, you will transition to the Pickerington location to support the Store Manager in building the team, maintaining operational standards, and driving store performance.
This is a great opportunity to grow into a key leadership role within a new store from the ground up.
ResponsibilitiesIncluding but not limited to:
Team Leadership & Development- Support hiring, training, and onboarding of new team members.
- Lead shifts and act as the manager-on-duty when needed.
- Coach and develop team members through real-time feedback and accountability.
- Promote a positive, high-performance culture aligned with company standards.
- Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly, including food quality, speed of service, and cleanliness.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Assist with cash handling procedures, drawer counts, and deposit preparation.
- Maintain store readiness, including prep levels, equipment functionality, and shift organization.
- Assist in monitoring and improving key KPIs such as SPLH, food cost, and labor efficiency.
- Support inventory management, including truck orders, counts, and waste control.
- Help execute action plans to improve REV scores and overall store performance.
- Deliver and model exceptional customer service on every shift.
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, promotions, and in-store execution.
- Assist with scheduling, time clock reviews, and shift coverage.
- Support completion of daily reports, checklists, and required documentation.
- Help implement store initiatives, promotions, and process improvements.
- Shift Execution Excellence: Consistently lead efficient, well-run shifts that meet operational and service standards.
- Team Development: Contribute to a well-trained, accountable, and high-performing team.
- KPI Performance: Support achievement of SPLH, food cost, labor, and REV score targets.
- Guest Satisfaction: Maintain a positive guest experience through strong service and quick issue resolution.
- Operational Consistency: Ensure adherence to food safety, cleanliness, and brand standards at all times.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in a restaurant or retail supervisory role, with proven success in team management and operational oversight.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in computer operations and point-of-sale systems.
- Sound understanding of inventory management, cash control, and scheduling.

Pay
- This is a full time, hourly position, with weekly pay.
- Ability to work in various areas of the store, including handling physical tasks (bending, standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally).
- Store managers must be flexible to work any shifts as required by store / company needs, including days/mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
