What We're Looking For
We are seeking an eager and excited Store Manager (Temporary) who embodies GNC's “Live Well” philosophy—living strong, living long, and living fit. As a Store Manager (Temporary), you are part of a team that is passionate about helping everyone win. With your understanding of business needs and passion for health and wellness, you will bring excitement in offering tailored and innovative solutions to each customer.

You'll Do

This is a full‑time hourly supervisory position. Alongside a District Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a store, including business performance, product management, and ensuring your team has the tools to succeed.

  • Ensure products are merchandised according to GNC standards while keeping an eye toward ease of visibility and purchase.
  • Support the total shopping experience – visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the customer relationship that leads to sales and repeat business (e.g., MYGNC Rewards).
  • Achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals, and help sales associates realize their sales potential.
  • Build strong teams, demonstrate leadership, and employ managerial skills such as giving ongoing feedback to store associates, recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
  • Open, close, and operate the retail facility, including cash handling, inventory count, and deposits according to GNC procedures.
  • Seek out and participate in community events that resonate with our consumers (fares, fitness events, conferences, expos, and other public gatherings) to promote the organization’s mission and initiatives.

At the end of 90 days, your performance will be assessed and evaluated to determine eligibility for promotion to a permanent Store Manager position. The assessment will include a variety of factors, including performance, availability of openings, and willingness to accept a promotion in the designated market.

Environmental Factors & Working Schedule
  • Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day.
  • Frequent reaching, bending and twisting (below waist and above shoulders).
  • Frequent use of repetitive hand‑to‑finger motions and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lifting up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds; push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 50–85 °F, especially in stock rooms.
  • Use of a computer up to 60 % of the time during the day.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.

Managers are expected to work five days (40 hours) a week and adhere to the following schedule:

  • Mall and strip‑center managers must work at least two nights during the week until closing, one weekend night, and one additional night.
  • Strip‑center managers must also work a full shift on Saturdays.
  • Mall managers are expected to work peak business days, including Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Managers are expected to work a minimum of one full Sunday per month.
  • Downtown store managers must work the lunch hour (11 a.m.–2 p.m.) Monday through Friday and one night per week until closing if the store is open in the evening; they are not required to work Saturdays.

Managers are expected to work all major U.S. holidays that the store is open.
