General Function
Selected candidates will become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program with rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. Upon program completion, candidates receive a certification demonstrating the skills needed for the Retail Personal Banker role, which focuses on sales development and relationship building through promotion of deposits, loans, fee‑based services, and customer retention.
Responsibilities- Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.
- Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
- Cross‑sell to the existing customer base and engage in outside sales activities, such as Membership Advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events.
- Build close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) and refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth measured by the Financial Center P&L.
- Guide CSRs on the sales and referral process.
- Maintain professionalism, trust, and confidentiality, following the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and related policies.
- Adhere to policies and procedures when opening or servicing Retail products and participating in consumer loan and bankcard processes.
- Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
- College degree or equivalent experience providing transferable skills.
- Preferred experience in the financial industry.
- Ability to sell a variety of consumer and small business products and cross‑sell to existing customers.
- Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
- Professional appearance and effective verbal/written communication.
- Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to exercise sound judgment.
- Register for the S.A.F.E. Act through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment.
Normal office environment with frequent computer use. Requires training travel within the affiliate and occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom sessions.
