Senior Product Engineer at Feit Electric will lead the design, prototyping, approval, and launch of new lighting and connected home products within the assigned category.

• Design, prototype, authorize, and launch new lighting and connected home products.
• Act as the engineering lead, ensuring products meet customer requirements and quality standards while applying AI tools to accelerate cycle time.
• Mentor Product Engineers, guiding them to maintain high standards and adopt AI‑enabled workflows.
• Collaborate daily with factories, product managers, sales, graphics, and purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

• Design and develop products that comply with regulatory and UL‑certified safety standards, meet customer specifications, and launch on time and within budget.
• Accurately manage and track project progress; address technical challenges through a structured phase‑gate process.
• Validate, test, and approve products using rigorous DV and FAA procedures; verify and approve UL/ETL safety reports.
• Identify new technologies, including emerging AI capabilities, that enable innovative products and improved engineering practices.
• Maintain frequent communication with supply partners to resolve issues and meet project objectives.
• Ensure accuracy of user manuals, product labeling, and engineering specifications for all printed materials.
• Maintain deep understanding of regulatory standards (Title 20, 24, Energy Star, DLC, UL Standards, ANSI) and emerging technologies.

• Apply AI tools across product development workflow, including design analysis, compliance review, ECO triage, and root‑cause analysis on field returns.
• Accelerate UL, FCC, DOE, Energy Star, and Title 20/24 document review to shorten certification cycle time on every SKU.
• Leverage AI‑driven circuit, thermal, and photometric analysis to reduce prototype iterations and BOM cost.
• Apply AI pattern detection on test data and field returns to identify failure modes early.
• Generate and maintain ECOs, parse supplier specs, and convert engineering knowledge into reusable assets via AI.
• Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging AI capabilities; build playbooks, prompts, and lightweight automations.
• Critically evaluate AI‑generated suggestions against UL standards and engineering principles.
• Continuously improve the New Product Development process combining AI capabilities with engineering discipline.

• Serve as a mentor to Product Engineers, providing guidance and support for high‑quality product development and AI workflow adoption.
• Oversee and lead design reviews for all engineering team members within the product family.
• Share knowledge and best practices, including AI workflows, with stakeholders to promote collaboration.

• 7+ years of experience in new product development and project management in an individual contributor role.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to engineering or product development tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Deep understanding of electrical specifications, LED drivers, lighting systems, schematics, installations, and wiring diagrams, with the ability to provide sound design recommendations.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple urgent projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficient in using Asana for project management and MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with DMM, oscilloscopes, and both DC & AC power supply design.
• Proficient with general‑purpose AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or equivalent) and strong prompt‑engineering skills.
• Strong judgment to validate AI output against engineering standards, UL/safety requirements, and manufacturability.

• LED lighting experience.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted document parsing, spec extraction, test‑report drafting, and code/script generation for test automation.
