Material Handler

Job Description

Responsible for receiving materials into the warehouse, maintaining accurate and safe storage of inventory, properly issuing materials to internal customers, shipping materials using various methods, processing related records, reports, and documents.

• Review receiving documents for accuracy and completeness before accepting receipt of order from carrier.
• Report major discrepancies, problems, or concerns to supervisor.
• Contact requisitioning department/person for disposition instructions if required.
• Record receipt in ERP system and physically place items in proper warehouse location.
• Process outgoing materials in ERP system and deliver to internal customers.
• Assist in conducting physical inventory.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse and storage facilities.
• Notify supervisor of all safety problems or concerns.
• Assist in shipping materials and equipment to other service centers, job sites, etc.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and timely materials control records as required.
• Resolve routine receipt, storage, and issuing problems with supervisor assistance.
• Support procurement and materials control processes and management needs. Perform other duties as required.
• Work to control inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects to meet production schedules.

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., Homeschool Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certification or experience driving forklift.

• Basic computer skills required.
• Associate's Degree or some college coursework.
• Strong organizational, written and oral skills.
• One year of work-related experience preferred.
• ERP / Inventory control software experience desirable.
• Cooperative.

• Ability & willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.
• Ability & willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability & willingness to work in a range of environments, including industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities.

Compensation: $21–$24 USD (no bonus).
