Grinder

Position Summary

As a Grinder, you will operate hand‑held and stationary grinding equipment to smooth, finish, and prepare metal surfaces and welds in a repetitive production environment. This role is responsible for independently selecting the proper abrasive tools, ensuring quality finishes, and interpreting production paperwork in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement provisions.

: 1st: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1‑2 years' relevant manufacturing/metal finishing experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency reading and applying production paperwork and finishing instructions.
• Ability to safely operate pneumatic and electric hand grinders, sanders, and stationary grinding equipment.
• Basic inspection and measuring skills; attention to detail and consistent quality focus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be 18+ and able to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing for long periods of time, lifting to 75 lbs, bending, twisting, and enduring continuous vibration from hand tools. Must use hands to firmly grip and manipulate equipment.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Warehouse/production environment with strict PPE required (safety glasses, face shield, heavy‑duty gloves, ear protection, and potentially respiratory protection).
• Exposure to airborne metal dust, sparks, and occasional adhesives, solvents or sealant fumes (proper ventilation and training provided).
• Fast‑paced, team environment; focus on consistent quality and safety.

Compensation
: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
