About De Silva Brothers & Company

Since 1955, De Silva Brothers & Company has been an industry leader in ingredient blending, co-packaging, and wholesale distribution of herbs, spices, and custom seasonings. Operating from our facility in Pico Rivera, California, we serve food manufacturers, national retailers, and private label brands across the United States. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our SQF, HACCP, GMP, and Kosher certifications, and in the standards we hold ourselves to every day.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to run the day-to-day flow of our Pico Rivera warehouse. This role owns shipping and receiving, inventory accuracy, warehouse condition, and the material staging that keeps our production lines running. It is a floor-level leadership position: you will direct a team of warehouse associates and forklift operators, work closely with production, quality, and purchasing, and be accountable for a warehouse that is accurate, orderly, and audit-ready at all times.

The role is based at De Silva Brothers and provides backup supervision at our GP De Silva Spices warehouse as needed.

Key Responsibilities Shipping and Receiving
  • Own daily inbound and outbound flow: schedule dock appointments, verify receipts against purchase orders, and release outbound loads complete and on time
  • Verify bills of lading, packing lists, and case and pallet labeling before loads leave the dock, including retail and private label customer routing requirements
  • Manage carrier check-in, dock scheduling, and load staging to minimize detention and missed delivery windows
Warehouse Operations and Inventory
  • Supervise put-away, picking, staging, and stock rotation (FIFO) across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Own the cycle count program and physical inventories; investigate variances and drive them to root cause with the inventory and accounting team
  • Maintain lot traceability and location accuracy in the ERP so traceability exercises and mock recalls pass on the first attempt
  • Manage space planning, rack utilization, and correct segregation of allergens, Kosher product, holds, and non-conforming material
Warehouse Sanitation and GMP Condition
  • Hold the warehouse to SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards: housekeeping, storage practices, pallet and dock door condition, and pest control readiness
  • Complete daily and weekly warehouse GMP inspections, correct findings, and document corrective actions
  • Coordinate with the Sanitation Supervisor on scheduled cleaning of warehouse zones and equipment, and support third-party and customer audits
Production Support
  • Stage raw materials, packaging, and components to the production schedule so lines start on time
  • Return and reconcile unused material after each run and keep work-in-process and staging areas orderly
  • Flag material shortages to purchasing and scheduling before they stop a line
Team Leadership and Safety
  • Supervise, schedule, and develop warehouse associates and forklift operators; set daily priorities and hold the team to standard
  • Train and certify forklift operators in-house, and enforce powered equipment safety, GMP, and OSHA requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and near-miss follow-up, and keep safety and GMP training records current
Qualifications Required
  • 3 to 5 years of warehouse experience, including at least 2 years supervising a team
  • Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or another regulated environment with documented handling standards
  • Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP expectations in a storage and distribution setting
  • Hands-on ERP or WMS experience for…
