Job Description & How to Apply Below
  • $120,000 annual salary paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • Full-time on-site position at a single Alpha campus:
    Beverly Hills, La Jolla (San Diego), Malibu, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, or Santa Monica, CA;
    Greenwich, CT;
    Boston, MA;
    New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available)
  • 40-hour work week, 100% classroom-based with K-3 students

Your structured-literacy certification — Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction — has opened the door to every K-3 reading position you've pursued. In most roles, it also defined your limits: you delivered someone else's curriculum and tracked compliance. At Alpha, the credential is your entry point. If that difference resonates with you, continue reading.

Alpha has dismantled conventional instruction models. Students advance through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications. There are no lectures, textbooks, or district pacing calendars. Your expertise fills the space where human judgment cannot be replaced.

You create targeted 20-minute small-group workshops informed by live app analytics; brevity is intentional, because focused precision outperforms duration. You also facilitate motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students hit their weekly app targets, applying Alpha's motivational framework (campus currency, performance leaderboards, age-appropriate game mechanics). When you catch a miscue during a session, you identify the underlying phonemic deficit and redesign the next workshop before the day ends.

This is the expectation.

Families enrolled at these campuses selected Alpha for measurable results, not simply enrollment. Parents receive weekly reports on their child's reading progress, and they expect answers. You will field specific questions about individual student growth, and vague reassurances will not suffice. You must reference running records, identify the phonemic issue, and describe your instructional response. This level of accountability should energize you, not burden you.

Your initial months focus on establishing credibility. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective; direct student satisfaction and "love your Guide" survey results (target 90%+) provide immediate feedback. Once you prove your impact, your influence broadens beyond your classroom: successful instructional strategies you develop become templates adopted across other Alpha campuses, and your diagnostic precision informs reading instruction as Alpha scales.

Your contributions extend well beyond your immediate setting.

Prior to hire, you will submit a brief video of yourself telling an engaging story for young children, and you will complete a full-day on-campus trial working directly with K-3 students. Low energy with children is disqualifying, regardless of credential strength. This is intentional.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating small-group K-3 reading workshops informed by real-time adaptive-app analytics, rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent)
  • Leading daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students reach their weekly app goals, leveraging Alpha's motivational framework (campus currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
  • Analyzing AI-generated student performance data (fluency trajectories, decoding precision, comprehension indicators) to modify instruction intra-day, not only during pre-planning
  • Conducting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations that produce measurable gains visible in weekly campus data reviews
  • Serving as the approachable, high-energy adult your K-3 students are excited to see daily
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implementing a commercial reading curriculum, scripted lesson plan, or district-mandated pacing guide; you build lessons directly from student performance data
  • Delivering whole-class lectures; all instruction occurs in small, targeted groups while students engage with adaptive apps for core academic content
  • Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach for other educators, or district-level…
