Outside Plant

Palmetto Engineering & Consulting seeks an Outside Plant professional to support utility and telecommunications infrastructure projects. In this field-focused role, you will conduct site walks, collect and verify field data, and support the layout of outside plant routes for power and communications networks. Working closely with engineers and project managers, you will help translate designs into constructible solutions, prepare redlines and documentation, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule goals are met while delivering dependable service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate outside plant utility and telecom projects from field survey through construction
• Perform site walks, field data collection, and verification of existing infrastructure
• Support design of outside plant routes, cable paths, and equipment placement using engineering standards
• Prepare construction drawings, redlines, and documentation for permitting and build activities
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve field issues and ensure constructability
• Monitor project schedules, quality, and safety compliance during field and construction activities
• Interpret utility maps, as-builts, and engineering plans to guide field implementation
• Provide accurate project status updates, reports, and documentation to project managers
