MAU is hiring a Quality Engineer in Piedmont, SC. As a Quality Engineer, you will support quality standards, customer quality activities, PPAP processes, safety compliance, and continuous improvement within plant operations.
This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information

  • A Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM. – 7:00 PM

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Automotive experience is required.
  • Ability to travel within and outside of the U.S.
  • Knowledge of PPAP / Submission process systems or equivalent
  • Knowledge of internal auditing
  • Exposure to OEM specifications, standards, and quality systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Knowledge of AIAG core tools: FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP
  • Exhibit an objective, fair, and professional attitude
  • Follow company policies and expected conduct
  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and participation in team activities
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills in a continuous-improvement environment
  • Support all customer quality standards and internal standards
  • Perform cross-functional job assignments per procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain respect, cooperation, ethical conduct, and fair dealing with customers and suppliers

Preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; an associate degree with experience or 4 years of relevant work experience may substitute

General Requirements:

  • Understanding of OSHA, EEOC, and FLSA rights
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and enforce PPE standards
  • Report accidents or injuries immediately and participate in investigations
  • Maintain knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements for employees and visitors

Essential Functions:

  • Follow safety rules and maintain a safe and healthful workplace
  • Train new employees, report unsafe acts or conditions, and correct or commend safety performance
  • Coordinate all PPAP activities and ensure accurate, on-time submissions into customer systems (SQMS, B2B, Supply Power)
  • Update customers on PPAP status and timing
  • Ensure effective communication and containment of customer quality issues; travel may be required
  • Ensure root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions; upload into customer databases
  • Respond to customer complaints within required time frames
  • Manage customer relationships to maintain a positive perception
  • Establish boundary samples for subjective quality issues
  • Assist manufacturing in developing Control Plans and Work Instructions
  • Participate in cross-functional APQP meetings
  • Assist Supplier Quality Engineer with supplier PPAPs and run-at-rate trials
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to meet departmental objectives
  • Perform job duties within the Supplier Quality Manual and ISO/IATF 16949 procedures
  • Perform other duties as directed

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit up to 8 hours continuously
  • Ability to stand, walk, or climb stairs for at least 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently and 50lbs infrequently
  • Good near vision and color acuity
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion for up to 8 hours
