5/8's, 7:45am–4:15pm, Thursday–Monday
Responsibilities- Perform admissions, retail operations, merchandising, and other guest services activities for the Springs Preserve
- Assist guests with membership purchases and renewals
- Support Preserve activities such as train rides, demonstrations, exhibit support, and other special events
- Operate computer and point‑of‑sale equipment and software for ticketing and sales
- Respond courteously to guest and visitor complaints and evaluate problems following established procedures
- Maintain composure in stressful situations and uphold guest service standards and etiquette
- Knowledge of customer service standards, policies, procedures, and etiquette; guest services practices in a public attraction or museum setting; ticketing practices; arithmetic and basic mathematics; safe work practices
- Ability to perform ticketing, admissions, sales and other guest services rapidly, accurately and courteously
- Competence in operating computer and point‑of‑sale equipment and software
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to explain and follow district policies and procedures
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions
- High school diploma or GED and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience involving guest, visitor, or customer interaction, preferably in a museum, cultural or public attraction venue
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy
Employees are regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands repetitively; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or bend; lift up to 25pounds and occasionally up to 50pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance and peripheral vision, color discrimination, and focus adjustment. Mental demands include using written and oral communication skills, reading and interpreting information, analyzing and solving standard guest service problems, observing and interpreting customer service situations, learning new information or skills, performing highly detailed work requiring a high level of accuracy, working with frequent interruptions, and interacting with guests, managers and staff, the public and others encountered in the course of work.
