Locum - Physician - General Medicine Houston, TX

Overview :

We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Physicians to serve as Locum Providers, performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role is vital in supporting our nation's Veterans by delivering high-quality, interview-based assessments with some physical evaluation components. You will operate independently, utilizing your medical expertise to ensure accurate assessments, all while working within a flexible, PRN framework. This is an excellent chance to contribute to a noble cause while maintaining your clinical autonomy.

Required Skills :

Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid medical license in Texas.

Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or related fields.

Strong clinical assessment skills, including interview techniques and physical testing (range of motion, muscle strength).

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Comfortable managing interview-based evaluations efficiently.

Nice to Have Skills :

Previous experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or military/relevant veteran assessments.

Familiarity with diagnostic interpretation and medical reporting.

Certification in relevant medical specialties or training in disability evaluations.

Bilingual abilities to serve diverse veteran populations.

Preferred

Education and Experience :

Board-certified or board-eligible physicians in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedics.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience post-residency.

Prior experience with government or military-related medical assessments is a plus.

Other Requirements :

Own a private practice or office space (local candidates only).

Willingness to perform one-time non-treatment exams, including report submissions and optional follow-up administrative work.

Availability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible schedules—half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours).

Must complete onboarding and training, with quick credentialing process.

No travel reimbursement; local candidates only.
