Job Description: Minnesota West Community and Technical College seeks an Automotive Services Technology Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to teaching, is committed to students, student learning, and student success.
Minimum Qualifications- Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in automotive services technology.
- Four full‑time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology.
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application. The recency requirement may be waived if the individual has two years of successful full‑time (or equivalent) post‑secondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
- Current ASE certification in the areas in which the faculty member is teaching.
- Three years teaching experience working with a diverse student population.
- Experience with D2L or other online Course Management System.
- Understanding of the mission, vision, and core values of a comprehensive two‑year college.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Multilingual or multicultural background or experience working with underserved populations.
- All applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of employment.
- In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
