Job Description
As a Senior Facilities Operations Technician - Mechanical, you will play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of essential mechanical and HVAC systems within hyperscale data centers. You will utilize your burgeoning technical expertise to ensure system reliability, troubleshoot issues, and support upgrades that maintain uptime and extend the lifecycle of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance mechanical and HVAC system designs for high-availability setups, including chilled water, DX, airside systems, and redundancy strategies.
- Conduct troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root cause analyses for mechanical and HVAC equipment issues.
- Assist in capacity planning, retrofits, and operational initiatives to ensure system operability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with site operations teams to improve maintainability, the safe execution of work, and documentation quality.
- Contribute to vendor technical reviews, commissioning tasks, and operational handover requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to enhance performance and lifecycle outcomes across various sites.
- Experience working with mission-critical mechanical systems in environments like industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, healthcare, or large commercial facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, sequences of operation, and equipment documentation.
- Knowledge of chilled water systems, DX cooling, and operational risk management.
- Technical certifications, trade experience, or equivalent practical experience are highly desirable.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for daily operations.
- Good judgment in time-sensitive operational situations.
- Effective communication skills for conveying technical findings and risks.
- Proficiency in handling chillers, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, and mechanical distribution systems.
- Familiarity with BMS, PLC/controls concepts, and vendor coordination.
- Experience with maintenance planning and energy-efficiency projects.
- Preferred: EPA Section 608 Technician Certification for refrigerant handling.
- ASHRAE certifications, including Certified HVAC Designer (CHD), are advantageous.
- Relevant training from Schneider Electric University or similar organizations will be beneficial.
- OEM or manufacturer training on relevant HVAC systems is a plus.
- Uptime Institute's Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) credential is beneficial.
This is a mission-critical role within a 24/7 operational environment where maintaining uptime is essential. Regular attendance and adaptability to shift-based schedules are required. Applicants must be capable of lifting up to 39 pounds independently and participating in group lifts for heavier loads. Ability to maintain balance while using ladders or elevated platforms is essential. All tasks must be performed safely in an industrial environment.

Oracle values broad salary ranges in its role offerings, considering knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and other factors. The estimated hiring range for this role is between $87,000 to $178,100 per year, with potential bonuses and equity opportunities.
