Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Operations Technician II and play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of essential mechanical and HVAC systems within our cutting-edge data centers. This position is perfect for technicians with backgrounds in HVAC, industrial, commercial facilities, or building operations who are eager to transition into the dynamic world of data center operations.
You'll gain hands‑on experience while contributing to system reliability and learning how upgrades can protect our uptime.
- Review and enhance mechanical and HVAC designs for high‑availability environments, including chilled water systems and air handling strategies.
- Assist in troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for HVAC system issues.
- Support upgrades and expansions through participation in design reviews and operational acceptance processes.
- Work collaboratively with site operations to improve maintenance and documentation for mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, familiarizing yourself with industry standards.
- Follow technical documentation for consistent execution of maintenance tasks across facilities.
- A background in HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance; data center experience is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance or mechanical operations.
- A basic understanding of HVAC systems and a strong willingness to learn.
- Technical certifications or related training preferred.
- Experience with chilled water systems, pumps, valves, and cooling units.
- The ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Familiarity with BMS controls and safety practices.
- Relevant certifications, such as EPA Section 608, OSHA, or ASHRAE training.
This role is essential for maintaining 24/7 operations, requiring a flexible schedule. You'll need to be able to walk, bend, crouch, push/pull objects, and lift up to 39 pounds independently. Safety is our priority, and these tasks must be performed in an industrial environment.
