The South Dakota Department of Health Office of Health Statistics is looking for a Program Manager to coordinate the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey, and co-lead the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) and State Health Assessment (SHA) work groups, along with a broad range of additional duties.

Key responsibilities include:
- Work with federal partners to develop, secure, and manage grant funds for the administration of the YRBS.
- Develop the YRBS questionnaire every two years with stakeholders, ensuring the most useful data for state programs.
- Liaise with schools and federal partners to administer and coordinate the YRBS, including travel to high schools.
- Work with federal partners to develop, secure, and manage grant funds for the administration of the BRFSS.
- Coordinate the development of the BRFSS questionnaire each year with stakeholders.
- Serve as the liaison with the BRFSS survey contractor; manage invoices, payments, and monitor interviewers.
- Co‑lead the continued development of the State Health Assessment and the State Health Improvement Plan, coordinating ongoing work and contributing to strategic planning.
- Prior experience in grant writing, grant management, contract writing and execution, survey development and administration, and Power BI software.
- Knowledge of fundamental data principles and Microsoft Office software to prepare reports.
- Skills:
effective time management, communication with high school personnel, participation in meetings with DOH program managers, and compilation of data with detailed documentation. - Ability: develop and implement program policies and procedures to ensure achievement of grant activities; analyze and evaluate program plans for improvement; read and comprehend technical narrative material.
