Production Associate

Johnson Service Group has an immediate need in Pierre for a Production Associate – Material Handler. This is a scheduled 2+ month temporary assignment of 40+ hours per week. The position requires regular lifting of 40 lbs.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment that produces product on the line, stacking product manually, and performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to keep production equipment running efficiently.

• Manually operate and monitor assigned lines, bagging and palletizing equipment, materials, and finished product to facilitate proper flow and machine operation.
• Coordinate the movement of product from the production lines to the skids.
• Manually stack finished product onto pallets.
• Examine product for quality and ensure all Food Safety Handling Procedures are followed.
• Record daily logs of packages, bags, and wasted packaging material.
• Inspect Julian date/lot codes for accuracy and legibility.
• Adopt a culture of cleanliness and safety in the work environment.

This position is available immediately and seeks someone who can start work right away. Pay rate is $17.25 per hour.
