Provides appropriate medical care to all patients by assessing physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients to develop a plan of care.
What You Will Do- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
- Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members, contributing to health education of individuals and groups and applying methods to increase motivation for self‑care.
- Consults and collaborates with physicians during assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
- Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities.
- Interprets diagnostic information and consults with physicians regarding abnormal findings to establish an appropriate plan of care.
- Ensures appropriate referrals are made for patients.
- Provides quality care, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices and reacting appropriately to environmental safety factors.
- Contributes effectively to the development and attainment of physician practice goals.
- Practices according to written, approved protocols and adheres to practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards.
- Maintains accurate patient records.
The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Requirements include adequate visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, understanding and distinguishing speech and other sounds. - Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) - US Department of Justice, based on state practice
