The normal summer season is approximately May through September. Opportunities may exist to begin earlier and work later. Most positions involve outdoor work and strenuous physical labor. Seasonal employees are paid only for hours worked.

Perform skilled activities on specialty maintenance crew. Work depends on crew assignment but may include:

• assisting in bridge inspections
• set up and removal of traffic control
• flagging
• repairing bridges and concrete
• asphalt patching
• sealing
• painting
• general clean up
• transporting
• loading and unloading materials

• Must be age 18
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, occasional heavy lifting and operate hand tools
• Work is typically performed near live traffic
• Summer schedule is typically 10–hour workdays Monday through Thursday, but may vary
