Overarching purpose: LIFT (Leading Initiatives for Families and Transformation) is a program dedicated to helping individuals facing various barriers overcome challenges and achieve sustainable, meaningful employment. We work closely with referrals from the Department of Social Services (DSS) enrolled in both the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and SNAP Employment and Training programs, providing them with the personalized support and resources they need to succeed.

The Case Manager position is in a typical office environment. Some duties may be performed outside the office to attend meetings with partnering agencies. The candidate is expected to work 40 hours per week in the office, scheduled between 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have- Experience working in case management, specifically mental health counseling, social work/social services, and/or human services.
- Education:
A bachelor's degree preferably in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or similar. In lieu of a 4-year degree, 4 years of experience in case management, counseling, human resources, or social services may be considered. - Proficiency with a personal computer and specific knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, TEAMS, and various software programs.

- Principles of human behavior and motivation.
- Labor market and economic conditions in South Dakota.
- Marketing techniques to engage employers and human resource professionals.
- How to locate and connect with various supportive services offered in South Dakota.
- Effectively work with program participants who may have barriers to employment.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with employers, program partners, and co-workers to advance participant success.
- Partner with customers to develop employment goals and action steps.
- Accurately maintain all required documentation, notes and follow-up attempts.
- Follow all program policies and procedures.
- Use all technology available to manage communication with participants, program partners and co-workers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with participants, program partners, employers and co-workers.
- Communicate information clearly.
- Effectively speak to individuals or small groups of participants or employers about program services.
