Internship - Recreation

Position: INTERNSHIP - RECREATION
MAY - AUGUST

HOURS Approximately 35-40 hours per week to include various weekends and evening hours.

This position has many opportunities that can include but are not limited to the following:

1. Preparation, promotion of summer events

2. Meet with Recreation Superintendent for job orientation.

3. Assist in planning training for summer employees

4. Assist with Summer Recreation registration

5. Work with Recreation Superintendent to monitor the progress of the summer programs and of the employees. ( Summer programs you will be in charge of will be determined)

6. Plan and work Special Events

7. Be available to assist with program leadership when short staffed

8. Each summer the intern will be responsible for a special project matching their knowledge and skills.

9. Assist where needed

* Qualifications

APPLICANTS MUST BE A FULL TIME STUDENT AT AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OR TECHNICAL INSTITUTE WHILE SERVING AS THE INTERN. Excellent Opportunity for a student or recent graduate that is interested in a hands-on experience in the Parks and Recreation Field in a very active Recreation Program. This position will involve all aspects of the department including special events, programming, leadership, pool management and operation, customer service and promotion.

Previous work with summer recreation programs preferred, but not required.
