Key Responsibilities

Conduct soil analysis and develop tailored fertilization and irrigation plans for various crops.
Advise farmers on best practices for pest and disease management, recommending eco-friendly solutions.
Implement and oversee crop rotation strategies to maintain soil fertility and biodiversity.
Monitor crop development, weather patterns, and market trends to optimize planting and harvesting schedules.
Train and mentor junior agronomists and farm staff on modern agronomic techniques.
Stay abreast of the latest agricultural research and technologies, integrating them into farm operations where feasible.

Requirements

Master's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in agricultural advisory or crop management.
Proven expertise in soil science , plant nutrition, and integrated pest management.
Strong understanding of South African agricultural practices and challenges, particularly in Kwa Zulu-Natal .
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets for strategic decision-making.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently to various farm locations.
