Located in beautiful, suburban Pike Creek, Delaware, Goldey-Beacom College is a private, co-ed institution with a rich history and high standards of educational excellence. Founded in 1886 and initially focused on equipping students for success in business, the College now offers programs in psychology, criminal justice, English, economics, and all areas of business. As an MSCHE and ACBSP accredited institution, Goldey-Beacom also offers master’s degrees in psychology and business and attracts a diverse student body from 22 states and over 60 nations.
Position Summary
We are seeking a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach undergraduate communications courses. The successful candidate will help students develop skills in communication theory, media, writing, research, and strategic communication while supporting a dynamic and student-centered learning experience. Teaching opportunities may be available in face-to-face, online synchronous, online asynchronous, and hybrid formats, with courses offered during daytime and evening hours.
Potential Courses
- COM 210 – Introduction to Journalism and News writing
- COM 220 – Strategic Communication Writing
- COM 241 – Group & Team Dynamics
- COM 310 – Strategic Communication Planning
- Other undergraduate communication and media courses as needed
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communications, Speech, or a closely related field
- Experience teaching or presenting in a professional or academic setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to supporting a diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching communication, media, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related fields
- Familiarity with online or hybrid teaching technologies
- Professional experience in communication, media, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related fields.
