Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and you support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You’ll perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The position consists of three major components:

  • Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory. Your role requires daily use of technology for communication, reporting time, providing feedback, and completing required merchandising activities. Professional, courteous interaction with store employees, managers, and customers is essential.
  • Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand. You may work additional days and extended hours during holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. In some cases, you may be required to work on the holiday itself or during the weekend.
  • Department resets: You may join a team responsible for installing and resetting Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. Remodelling assignments are typically notified two weeks in advance and may include evenings or weekends.
  • One Team Vision: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who support each other across territories.
  • Physical Requirements

    This is a physically demanding job requiring a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds during the workday and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You will also kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may climb stairs and step ladders.

    Qualifications
    • At least 18 years of age.
    • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
    • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Proficient in operating a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
    • Access to Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
    • Reliable transportation for travel to assigned stores as scheduled.
