Our Client is seeking Senior Accountant position that will report to the Controller and will be responsible for accounting and reporting support for existing commercial and residential properties as well as properties under development. The Senior Accountant will be involved in a broad variety of accounting functions including G/L, A/P, A/R.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Construction Accounting
- Management of job cost systems, including inputting data, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
- Review all invoices for accurate
- Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for construction
- Assist with project closeouts, including final invoicing and lien
- Prepare journal entries for rent vacancies, property taxes, insurance, and other property-related expenses.
- Maintain accurate property records, including leases, insurance policies, and maintenance
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations in a timely
- Prepare supporting documentation for
- Other special projects as
- B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration desired.
- A minimum of 4-years experience with cost-accounting
- CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of real estate accounting software packages
- Solid understanding of
- Advanced computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft - Experience with Yardi Voyager
- Strong analytical
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work independently while effectively managing concurrent tasks within a rigid time schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours week and flexibility to work additional time depending on company needs and workload.
- Friendly, helpful team player with a positive, customer-service
- Dependable, with an excellent attendance track
- Exercise good judgment and take initiative to properly address and resolve
- Keep supervisor and co-workers up-to‑date on issues and project
- Use discretion and keep personal and personnel matters
