By joining our District 12, Project Development Branch, Design Section office as a Engineer-in-Training II in Pike County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform technical engineering work to develop practical skills.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediately complex engineering work on projects with a larger scope of work to develop practical skills for future registration as a professional engineer.
• Review intermediately complex projects to determine if projects are in line with engineering practices.
• Organizing and conducting meetings in the planning, and design of projects
• Develops and maintains project documentation.

Additional position information:

• Work is performed in the office and in the field.
• In the office, work will involve sitting at a desk and moving about the office to collaborate with other employees.
• In the field, there will be risks associated with existing project locations, such as live traffic, and also construction sites, such as moving equipment and material.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR

SKILLS:

Must have two years of engineering experience as an Engineer-In-Training.

Substitute EDUCATION for

EXPERIENCE:

A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
