Assist with the coordination and execution of campus events by supporting IT staff and event organizers with basic A/V and technology setup, event support, and equipment handling. This student position provides an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in event operations, technology, customer service, and live production while working under the guidance and supervision of experienced IT staff.

Responsibilities And Career Competencies
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of A/V and IT equipment for campus events under the direction of IT staff or event supervisors. – C, TW, P, T
  • Assist with monitoring A/V equipment during live events, including microphones, projectors, sound systems, and other A/V accessories, and notify IT staff of issues as they arise. – C, TW, P, T
  • Provide basic on‑site event support by assisting event staff and participants with routine technology needs and referring technical issues to IT staff or supervisors when additional assistance is needed. – C, TW, CT, P, T
  • Communicate with event staff, faculty, and IT supervisors regarding event needs, schedules, equipment requests, and issues, with guidance from assigned supervisors. – C, TW, P
  • Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and storage by helping organize, transport, clean, and properly store equipment according to established procedures. – C, P, T
  • Follow established safety and equipment‑handling procedures and seek assistance from supervisors when unsure about proper procedures or equipment use. – P, T
  • Represent the university professionally when interacting with event guests, participants, faculty, staff, and other members of the campus community. – P, C, TW
  • Learn and follow established IT and event support procedures while developing familiarity with A/V equipment, event technology, and customer service practices. – C, P, T
  • Work as part of the event support team by completing assigned tasks, following supervisor direction, and communicating questions or concerns as needed. – C, TW, P
