About the Position:
Serves as Park Ranger responsible for planning and implementation of a variety of program areas involving administration, resource management, and visitor services.

• PERIOD OF ASSIGNMENT: PERMANENT
• DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT/DUTIES:
  • Natural Resource & Stewardship Management:
    Participate in the development and implementation of project planning documents (Master Plans, Operational Management Plans (OMPs), Fire Prevention Plans, and Physical Security Plans). Preserve and restore natural and cultural resources, promote biodiversity, assist with threatened/endangered species programs, and coordinate wildland fire protection. Administer agricultural out-leases, perform real estate out-grant inspections, and maintain the project Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Visitor Assistance & Title 36 Enforcement:
    Enforce Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations to protect project resources, land, water, and facilities. Patrol lands and waters by vehicle, boat, ATV/UTV, or foot. Investigate violations, issue citations, and testify in federal court. Enforce public safety programs, perform search and rescue operations, render first aid, and regularly manage high-stress or volatile public encounters.
  • Recreation & Contract Administration:
    Manage recreation areas, campgrounds, and facilities. Administer the recreation fee program (collection, remittance, and safeguarding of fees). Draft contract specifications and assist in administering service contracts (e.g., mowing, trash removal, etc.). Plan public outreach, safety promotions, and interpretive programs. Coordinate the project volunteer program.

Conduct and report on physical inspections of the dam and appurtenant structures. Perform gate operations to regulate water outflow in accordance with regulatory requirements. Monitor basin and project areas during flood emergencies and read critical instrumentation (piezometers and staff gauges).
