Position Summary
The Center for Community & Economic Development Graduate Assistant provides support for the team’s various trainings, events, and community projects throughout the year.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the Center’s proxy email accounts (cced.edu & cdi.edu)
- Clerical and administrative support
- Communicates with sponsors, board members, event attendees and other constituents
- Assist with event logistics (room reservations, catering, printing, mailings, speaker/presenter/attendee communication, etc.) for the Community Development Institute and other trainings
- Conducts research for CCED technical assistance projects
- Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team.
- Ability to make sound judgments and assist in resolving student concerns.
- Effective interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational abilities.
- Civility in all interactions of a public or confidential nature.
- Demonstrate follow-up contacts and consultations in a timely manner.
Education and/or Experience
The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to operate appropriately in a professional work environment. Specific qualifications as follows:
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs and Google Suite
- Research experience
- Critical thinking skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to complete work by prescribed deadlines
- Ability to work on a team
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
