Job Summary

The Sales Director for Walmart will lead a team responsible for maintaining a profitable and healthy business through Joint Business Planning. This individual will become an expert on Coty brand strategies and product portfolios to work in conjunction with staff and internal business partners to create and execute a 4P strategy at the customer. The individual will have direct and indirect ownership of all levels of the customer P&L.

The role reports to the VP of Sales for the Walmart business and is instrumental in maximizing sales, driving overall growth and performance for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define short- and long-term strategic goals, build key customer relationships, and identify business opportunities within the customer base (Joint Business Planning)
  • Train and lead account managers to sell, implement, and evaluate business plans to meet or exceed financial objectives
  • Train and lead account managers to manage and improve distribution, pricing, shelving, and merchandising
  • Develop a deep understanding of Coty Brands (strategies, priorities, portfolios, etc.)
  • Create and deliver compelling brand/category story for the customer to sell-in new opportunities
  • Collaborate with customer marketing, sales, creative, supply chain, finance, media, influencer marketing, and other key stakeholders
  • Serve as primary team leader with the customer and sales/marketing teams, building and leveraging relationships with across functional counterparts
  • Lead the team that works with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to forecast and plan existing base, display, and new business opportunities
  • Accountable for the development and execution of all presentations for major customer meetings
  • Manage short-term and long-term business results
  • Deliver on volume, share, and ROI targets
  • Drive distribution, shelving, pricing, and promotion support to optimize spend
  • Identify and activate fact-based sales opportunities
  • Accurately forecast the business and proactively alert HQ of major shifts in the business
  • Steward trade funds by delivering appropriate ROI and minimizing customer invalid deductions
  • Budget and P&L management
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
  • Education:

    4‑year bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • Experience:

    8‑10 years CPG experience in account management and sales strategy
  • Technical skills:
    Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Nielsen, CPG Analytics
Desirable:
  • Creativity and strong problem‑solving skills
  • Strong team and people management experience
  • Ability to network and forge alliances internally and with external stakeholders
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Beauty industry relatability and curiosity about its trends
  • Adept financial acumen around P&L management
BENEFITS
  • Base Salary Range: $160,000 – $175,000
