Job Description & How to Apply Below

A national specialty subcontractor with multi-trade self‑perform capabilities is adding an Electrical Assistant Project Manager to its Kansas City metro team. This firm operates across the full construction spectrum—electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and more—giving its project teams a single‑source platform that most competitors can’t match. The KC‑area office supports both local and assigned out‑of‑area project work. If you’re an electrical construction PM who has worked in high‑stakes, technically demanding environments and wants a clear path deeper into mission critical work, this seat has the infrastructure and the project volume to get you there.

  • Anticipate $115K+ annual base
  • Per diem (travel package, based on GSA rates)
  • Full Suite of benefits:
    Health, Dental, Vision, PTO/Vacation
  • 401K with fully vested 3% annual company contribution (no employee match required)
  • Company‑paid life insurance, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program
  • Educational Assistance (after 2 years)
Overview
  • Manage electrical construction projects end‑to‑end, or support senior PMs on large‑scale work—covering scheduling, budget tracking, subcontractor coordination, and contract compliance
  • Own the electrical infrastructure scope: low‑voltage and medium‑voltage cabling, conduit and raceway systems, cable tray, support structures, medium‑voltage terminations, site grounding, and cable trench installations
  • Monitor project accounting and profitability; flag variances early and keep the project on track financially
  • Maintain working relationships with clients, vendors, inspectors, and community officials—keeping communication clear and proactive from project start through closeout
  • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget; this role is accountable for outcomes, not just activity
  • Support field staff performance and vendor compliance on assigned projects
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required, plus one of the following: bachelor's degree in construction, electrical engineering, or a related field; OR 5+ years of electrical construction field trade experience; OR equivalent combination
  • 3+ years of direct electrical construction project management experience on large‑scale commercial or industrial projects, with hands‑on responsibility for electrical construction activities (not oversight of an electrical sub)
  • Demonstrated experience managing low‑voltage (120V–600V AC) and/or medium‑voltage (>600V AC) systems, conduit/raceway, cable tray, site grounding, and related load calculations
  • Experience in Mission Critical or Advanced Technology environments strongly preferred—data center electrical construction experience is a significant plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license, clean MVR; able to pass background check and drug screen
  • Ability to meet jobsite security requirements (required for mission critical environments)
