Job Description

The Watson Chapel School District is seeking a reliable, student‑focused Special Education Paraprofessional to join our Special Education team. This individual will assist students with academic needs in a variety of settings, including the resource classroom, general education classrooms, and small‑group instruction. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for supporting student learning and success.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Support the implementation of instructional plans as directed by the special education teacher.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior during academic activities.
  • Provide support and supervision in general education settings, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff, maintaining a professional and supportive demeanor.
  • Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
  • Reflect on practice and make adjustments for professional growth.
  • Maintain professionalism with staff members.
  • Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
  • Report suspected bullying to the building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.
  • Adhere to all policies of the District.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal.
