Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Instruction:
Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and evaluate student learning for all assigned classes using the course outline as a guide. Manage instructional load per academic year as assigned, with flexibility for program difference and contract type. - Curriculum and assessment:
Develop course curriculum, handouts, lectures, labs, and presentations; participate in program-level learning assessment; help articulate learning outcomes and measures; review and participate in textbook selection where appropriate. - Collaboration:
Work with other faculty and administrators to develop program curriculum, standards, and policies; participate in clinical, internship, or field experiences as appropriate; coordinate with supervisors on scheduling and supervision of students in applicable settings. - Student engagement:
Be available to students via email, phone, or conferences; communicate contact hours and availability in the course syllabus; assign grades and maintain FERPA-compliant records; meet scheduled classes, office hours, and meetings. - Flexibility and scheduling:
Maintain a flexible weekly schedule to facilitate student learning; obtain prior approval for changes in class times or locations; support student learning through varied modalities and times as needed. - Professional development and service:
Participate in summative and formative faculty evaluation, remain current in the discipline, and participate in college professional development activities; perform other duties to support department and college goals. - Clinical and field responsibilities (where applicable):
Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical or field settings; perform duties related to clinical instruction, documentation, and student assessment in labs and simulations as appropriate.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license to practice in Arkansas.
- Previous clinical nursing experience;
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as required by accrediting body; meets program full-time faculty requirements. - Clear criminal background; clear 10-panel urine drug screen; current TB/CPR documentation; current immunizations.
- Two years of clinical experience; clinical and classroom teaching experience (at least one year preferred).
- Demonstrated gross and fine motor abilities for clinical settings; mobility and dexterity to perform tasks with equipment and patients; physical endurance for extended shifts.
- Cognitive, communication, and interpersonal abilities to read and interpret information, document accurately, think analytically, prioritize, and communicate professionally with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to maintain composure under stress and to teach and collaborate effectively in a healthcare team environment.
The role requires physical activities typical of healthcare education settings, including frequent standing, walking, keyboarding, and verbal communication; close visual acuity for data transcription and documentation; and exposure to a professional office environment with standard lighting and temperature control.
