Start DateAnticipated start date August 3;
January 4 start may also be considered.
- Teach psychology courses (General Psychology, Human Growth and Development, etc.) across traditional, online, and hybrid formats, meeting a 15 credit hour per semester workload.
- Develop and deliver course materials including lectures, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records in compliance with FERPA.
- Hold on‑campus office hours (10 per week) and communicate regularly with students.
- Participate in program assessment, curriculum development, and textbook selection.
- Attend and fulfill all scheduled classes, meetings, and academic responsibilities; maintain an on‑campus presence averaging 32 hours per week.
- Advise and support students in achieving academic goals.
- Serve on committees, advisory boards, and campus governance activities.
- Mentor new faculty and contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives.
- Support evening and weekend hours as required.
Maintain current knowledge in psychology through ongoing professional development and continuing education, including required certifications.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours of coursework related to the teaching discipline.
- Preferred:
PhD in psychology or a related field. - Teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and/or the community college.
- Strong commitment to student success and quality teaching.
- Effective communication of psychological concepts.
- Proficiency with instructional technology, including Canvas LMS (or willingness to learn).
- Alignment with the mission and goals of NWACC.
Frequent: manipulate items with fingers, keyboarding; sitting; standing; walking. Constantly: hearing; repetitive motion; talking. Requires close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and/or visual inspection at close distances. Professional office setting with moderate noise level; occasionally visit other areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
CompensationRate of pay determined by faculty scale placement (education and years of experience). Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.
