Position Overview

The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards‑aligned science instruction that fosters critical thinking, inquiry, and real‑world application. This role supports Friendship’s mission to provide high‑quality education that prepares all scholars for college and career success, while aligning with the Arkansas Department of Education’s academic standards and educator effectiveness expectations.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons based on Arkansas Academic Standards for Science.
  • Utilize data‑driven and inquiry‑based instructional strategies to promote student achievement.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including special populations.
  • Integrate technology and hands‑on learning experiences to enhance scientific understanding.
Assessment & Student Growth
  • Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Use assessment data to adjust instruction and provide targeted interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance.
Classroom Environment
  • Establish a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration.
  • Maintain a well‑organized classroom conducive to learning and scientific exploration.
  • Implement effective classroom management aligned to school‑wide expectations.
Collaboration & Professional Practice
  • Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams to improve instructional practices and curriculum alignment.
  • Participate in professional development aligned with Friendship’s core values and ADE requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support strategies.
Compliance & Professional Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines set by Friendship Aspire Academies and the Arkansas Department of Education.
  • Support school initiatives, events, and a positive school culture grounded in high expectations and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or related field required.
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate middle school science certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Arkansas Academic Standards and effective instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
