Position Overview

The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards‑aligned instruction that ensures all scholars achieve academic success in mathematics. This role reflects Friendship’s commitment to academic excellence, character development, and preparing scholars for college and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement
  • Deliver rigorous, engaging math instruction aligned to ADE.
  • Utilize data‑driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all scholars.
  • Implement innovative instructional strategies to promote critical thinking and problem‑solving.
Curriculum & Planning
  • Develop and execute lesson plans aligned to Friendship’s curriculum and instructional model.
  • Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams to strengthen instructional practices and curriculum alignment.
  • Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning.
Student Development & Culture
  • Foster a positive, structured, and achievement‑oriented classroom culture aligned with Friendship’s core values.
  • Support scholars’ social‑emotional growth and promote accountability, respect, and perseverance.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment.
Assessment & Accountability
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor academic progress and inform instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student performance.
  • Use assessment data to drive interventions and accelerate student achievement.
Family & Community Engagement
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.
  • Partner with families to support scholar success and reinforce learning at home.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to Arkansas Department of Education policies, district procedures, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field required
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate middle school math certification
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
