Nurse Educator
INSTRUCTOR, BSN - SCHOOL OF NURSING - PDN (AS NEEDED)
What You Should Know About the SON Instructor- BSN:
- Monday–Friday:
Typical hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. - This position is based within Jefferson Regional School of Nursing
Under the direction of the Director of the School of Nursing, the Instructor is responsible for providing an atmosphere conducive to the student’s maximum learning through planned classroom and clinical instruction, which includes working directly with patients, families, nurses, physicians, instructors, and allied health care providers, and to evaluate the results of teaching and learning activities.
Provides direct and indirect student learning opportunities. Communicates with Director and other faculty, as appropriate, about student needs, concerns, and progress.
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate for an accredited school of nursing program and/or postsecondary master’s degree in nursing program (preferred) – Must enroll into a master’s degree in nursing within 1 year of hire. BLS/CPR upon hire or obtain prior to patient care.
- Current Arkansas Registered Nurse Licensure.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, patients, families, and faculty.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Basic flexibility to adapt to changes in school and student needs.
- 3 years of clinical experience, particularly in an acute care setting.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous teaching or precepting experience in academic or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing education standards, accreditation requirements, and curriculum development.
