Position Overview

At Friendship Aspire, the Principal serves as a dynamic and visionary leader committed to driving academic excellence and fostering a thriving school community. In this role, you will lead with purpose, shaping a high‑performing learning environment where students, staff, and families feel supported, valued, and inspired to succeed.

The Principal provides strategic instructional, operational, and administrative leadership to ensure the overall success of the school. This includes overseeing daily operations, guiding curriculum implementation, managing and developing staff, and cultivating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where all students can reach their full potential.

As a key leader, you will drive continuous improvement by aligning school practices to the Friendship Aspire model, using data to strengthen student achievement, ensuring sound financial management, and enhancing the overall experience for students and families.

This role requires a strong, equity driven leader who can effectively balance three essential functions: serving as an instructional leader who champions high‑quality teaching and learning, a site‑based manager who ensures efficient and effective school operations, and a culture builder who fosters a positive, collaborative, and student‑centered school climate.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Ensure consistent implementation of academic policies, curriculum standards, and compliance with Friendship Aspire policies, as well as state and federal laws
  • Analyze, share, and utilize student achievement data to develop, implement, and monitor the school improvement plan and overall program effectiveness
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate benchmarks to measure institutional success and drive continuous improvement
  • Support, coach, supervise, and evaluate staff to maximize instructional effectiveness and professional growth
  • Identify staff development needs and design/implement targeted professional learning aligned to school improvement goals
  • Monitor curriculum implementation to ensure proper content, pacing, and instructional alignment
  • Foster open communication by regularly engaging with students to understand and address their needs and concerns
  • Encourage, guide, and support teachers, staff, and student leaders
  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, and committees to ensure appropriate programming and student success
  • Enforce the school’s code of conduct and disciplinary procedures in a fair, timely, and consistent manner
  • Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and unbiased environment where all students can achieve their full potential
  • Develop and manage the master schedule, duty assignments, and staffing/resource requests
  • Oversee building operations, including the supervision of facilities, maintenance, and grounds
  • Prepare and present reports, documentation, and correspondence as required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families and community organizations to promote engagement and two‑way communication
  • Perform related duties as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in supervision, educational administration, school curriculum or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in administration or supervision
  • Completion of administrative internship program and/or experience as an assistant principal desirable.
  • Communication skills to develop a productive educational experience for both teachers and students
  • Problem solving skills to enhance teacher performance and improve student grade(s)
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Building Level Administrator License required.
