Your Role as an NC Pre‑K Lead Teacher

We are looking for dedicated professionals to oversee classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education, and aligning with the objectives of the current NC Pre‑K Curriculum. Your role involves creating a nurturing and positive environment for children and their families, fostering strong bonds and supporting their comprehensive development. You will design and execute learning experiences that encompass physical health, social‑emotional growth, cognitive skills, and creative expression.

You will conduct regular assessments to monitor children’s progress toward school readiness goals, tailoring the curriculum to meet individual needs, including those of children with disabilities. A key responsibility is to uphold health and safety protocols, ensuring a secure and clean environment in accordance with strict procedures for hygiene, food handling, illness management, and child supervision.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a minimum of one year’s experience in preschool teaching. Additionally, you must hold a Bachelor's Degree and be actively pursuing either NC Birth‑through‑Kindergarten (B‑K) or Preschool Add‑on Standard Professional II licensure. Your qualifications must include one of the following: an NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B‑K License, a North Carolina K‑6 license with a provisional Preschool Add‑on license, a license from another state accompanied by an NC Provisional B‑K license, or a degree in a related field that qualifies you for an NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B‑K License.
