Teaching Position at Juvenile Correctional Facility
This teaching position will be at the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Pine Bluff. Must hold a current AR teaching license. Responsibilities include instructing classes, developing lesson plans and other instructional material, assisting with coordinating classes, maintaining student records, performing involved office duties requiring critical thinking skills and independent judgment, and providing assistance to center lead teachers. The Workforce Ed Instructor is responsible for all aspects of the Adult Education program.
Duties include scheduling all students for the TABE test, monitoring student attendance and advising teachers on when students should post-test, scheduling and administering all TABE and GED ready tests for students, scheduling all GED tests, performing all student intakes, adding new students to DRC, producing reports from DRC, creating and maintaining student files, entering data accurately into LACES, regular work attendance, attending all mandated state meetings, and conducting faculty and staff professional development.
Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent to an associate's degree with intentions of getting a Bachelor's within two years. Preferred qualification of bilingual (Spanish and English). Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience including excellent fringe benefits (contingent upon availability of funds).
Salary Information: $20.00-$22.00/hour
