Duration: 3+ Months Contract

Pay Rate: $40/hour on W2

Schedule:

Thursday 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Hours:

5 instructional hours per week Position listed for 14 weeks but will likely be extended. Please note- this position is between 2-5 hours per week only. There will also be an additional 30 minutes of prep time each week and there may be a 30-minute monthly meeting. Confirm the schedule with your candidate before submitting.

Duties

• Teach High School Equivalency Materials & Test Prep to frontline team members at a facility.
• Create and develop materials associated with the courses taught.
• Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and trainings to stay updated and enhance teaching skills.
• Participate in recruitment events and culminating activities to support the program and engage with the community.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods:
  Including Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies
• Native-like fluency:
  Good command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools:
  Essential for managing course materials and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree:
  In English, teaching, or a related field.
• 3 years teaching experience:
  In High School Equivalency for adult education.

• Strong classroom management skills:
  Organizational and planning skills, ability to give clear, concise directions and explanations.
• Proficiency in a second language:
  Enhances communication with students from diverse backgrounds.

  To integrate technology effectively into teaching.
